Logistics workflows & operational handovers
Keep the customer agreement, cargo details, responsibilities and supporting information together as work moves into Operations.
The problem
A customer accepts an offer, but the operational colleague must reconstruct the route, cargo and charges from email threads. Task updates, documents and reporting then spread across separate tools. A handover needs enough context for the next person to act without silently changing the agreement.
Possible implementation
We walk through a representative job and identify who owns each decision and which record should be authoritative. We assess whether existing software can retain the agreement and link the operational work, or whether configuration, a supported integration or a focused application is needed. Reporting is defined around agreed sources and decisions, rather than adding a dashboard without a clear purpose.
Example deliverables
- Defined handover fields, responsibilities and acceptance criteria
- An agreed configuration or focused workflow implementation
- Task/document checks and reporting from agreed sources
- Testing of normal cases, revisions and missing information
What needs to be in place
We need the process owner and operational users, an example handover, current systems, responsibility rules and a clear statement of which records may be changed. Supported APIs, permissions, data quality and hosting requirements constrain the implementation. Access and security responsibilities are agreed before work starts.
Relevant evidence
The forwarding development project connects quotations, operational work and documents. Our separate fictional website demo lets you issue a quote version, record acceptance and create a linked shipment. It is an interactive explanation of the workflow, not a production account, fiscal system or client outcome.

Begin with the acceptance-to-Operations handover or one operational report. Review the result with its users before expanding to additional records, permissions or integrations. Suitable handover requirements in other sectors can use the same approach after a requirements review.
